About the Owner

Hello!

My name is Lindsey VanderWielen and I am the owner and designer for LMV Creations. Sewing has been a hobby of mine since I was about 5 years old when I started cross-stitching and by the time I was 7, I had moved on to my mom's sewing machine. I sewed a bunch of little things, but I couldn't tell you what! All I know is that sewing kept my little fingers busy.

The first thing I actually remember sewing is a dress. I had no idea what I was doing or which way to fold the fabric so the pattern was correct. But I was determined, and I figured it out eventually. It wasn't the most fashionable dress, but I wore it with pride! I loved sewing so much, that I even did a "How to Sew a Bag" demonstration speech in speech class. Funny how things turn out!

Sewing took a back seat to studying in college, where I earned a Media Studies degree from the Catholic University of America. Since graduation I have worked on 4 feature films, mostly as a production coordinator in the main office. After working 12+ hour days for 2-3 months at a time, I needed a creative outlet between films. I picked up my old hobby and soon I was sewing bags, skirts, dresses, and even robes! The idea of starting with nothing but fabric and thread and ending with a usable product never gets old to me.

After giving bags and scarves as gifts for a couple of years and hearing a chorus of "you should sell these," I decided to give it a try. I founded LMV Creations in January of 2010 and I have loved every minute of it. I hope you enjoy my products and happy shopping!
